I will gladly admit that I never saw myself opening a cottage bakery. My story does not follow along the lines of "I grew up baking" or "always knew that I wanted to do it."

But I think I am beginning to learn and understand,"delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart." Psalms 37:4

When God placed a stone mill in the hands of my family so that we could make our own bread with freshly milled flour, I initially thought it was a blessing, personally to us. But blessings are never meant just for us, are they?

After the learning curve of making fresh bread and experiencing how good it is, I prayed to God, giving Him thanks for this knowledge and how much I wanted for others to be able to eat and enjoy bread the way He intended!

I believe that God has answered this prayer by placing the desire on my heart to open this cottage bakery!

Why Freshly Milled Flour?

Like many commercially shelved food products found in stores, flour is stripped of essential nutrients to preserve its shelf life.

Freshly milled flour, instead, is milled from wheat berries, right before use. This allows for us to experience the benefits of all its natural nutrients, that commercially shelved alternatives do not.

What's the Meaning Behind Eight:Three?

Baking is only a small part of our why. Eight:Three is rooted in the scripture, Deuteronomy 8:3,

"People do not live by bread alone, rather we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord."

Yes, we want to encourage you to enjoy freshly made bread and sweets, but most of all we want you to know and enjoy God and His Word.

A hand-lettered verse from the Bible is added to every order, to point you back to our Creator!

He alone is our true source of life. Not only has He given us the natural foods that we need to thrive physically, but He has given us His Word so that we may thrive spiritually.

With love,
